George has provided students, of all ages, with a realization that anyone can play music. His background as a teacher and performer gives him the ability share over two decades of experience with his students. George began his musical journey at age 2 with his first gig, sitting in on percussion while on a family vacation, at Hilton Head Island, SC. At age 8 he began formal studies on the violin and viola with the school orchestra, winning several state and regional awards. It wasn't until age 17 that he discovered the bass guitar and immediately starting playing in bands with his friends.
In college, George continued his absorption of musical knowledge with Music Theory, Music History, and Bass Performance from the University of Colorado, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Master's Degree from the Berklee College of Music. Over the past few years he's been a guest Instructor at Summer UCamps, Performing Arts Camp for Students grades 3-12. He has studied personally with world renowned Victor Wooten and has been nominated for a Grammy in 2008 for bass performance on Blues Legend John Lee Hooker Jr's Album "All Odds Against Me".
Since 2006 he has toured internationally in Europe, Central America, Africa, Caribbean Islands, Scandinavia, Canada, and North America, sharing the stage with B.B.King, Lenny Kravitz, ZZ Top, and more. George currently resides in Boulder, CO where he's a music teacher, performer, and producer. He also travels internationally teaching bass guitar, recording with various artists, and directing his band, The George Lacson Project.
